Live machinery demos, B2B matchmaking, and skilling sessions highlighted how innovation, sustainability, and workforce training are shaping Eastern India’s booming market.

The first ever KOLKATAWOOD successfully ended after running for three days from 12 to 14 September in Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan, Kolkata, West Bengal. KOLKATAWOOD 2025 featured 150+ leading brands displayed pioneering machinery, new-age materials, modern design solutions, and next-gen mattress technologies. The three-day event featured live machinery demonstrations, skilling workshops, and B2B matchmaking sessions, highlighting innovation, sustainable materials, and modern finishes. The show underlined Eastern India’s growing demand for quality furniture and home solutions, emphasizing the importance of technology adoption and workforce training for future growth.
Organised by NuernbergMesse India, it marks the newest chapter in the IndiaWood series, which has long connected India’s furniture manufacturing sectors with global innovations through its editions in Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai.

The debut of KOLKATAWOOD comes at a time when Eastern India’s economy is gaining momentum. Infrastructure upgrades, along with rising incomes and booming real estate, are reshaping demand for high-quality furniture, kitchens, workspaces and sleep solutions.
The event was inaugurated in the august presence of Smt.Vandana Yadav, IAS (Managing Director, West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation; Principal Secretary, Industry Department, and CEO, WB Trade Promotion Organisation) and Ms Gabriele Manig, Deputy Consul General, German Consulate.
The exhibition continued until 14 September 2025, with sessions, showcases, and business interactions designed to power the next wave of growth for the sector.
