With the vision “transformation as the way forward” Pantone, the global colour authority introduces, Cloud Dancer as the colour of the year 2026. “At this time of transformation, when we are reimagining our future and our place in the world, PANTONE 11-4201 Cloud Dancer is a discrete white hue offering a promise of clarity,” says Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Colour Institute. Pantone, the provider of professional colour language standards and digital solutions for the design community, identified the ethereal shade, Cloud Dancer a billowy white imbued with a feeling of serenity as the Pantone Colour of the Year selection for 2026. Cloud Dancer is an ethereal white hue, PANTONE 11-4201 that stands as a symbol of calming influence in a frenetic society rediscovering the value of measured consideration and quiet reflection.
The ethereal shade Cloud Dancer, is not just a colour that may be used this year, but is an attempt to remind the world about the need for tranquillity amidst chaos. The hue symbolises fresh start, an empty canvas to start in a calm mind eliminating the pressure of chaos in the social environment. At a time when the world around, us has lost its peace, it is a small attempt from the colour authorities to paint the world in ethereal hue and remind us about the role of tranquillity and a desire for fresh start in our minds. A symbol of opening the door to new approaches ushers in with the colour Cloud Dancer. The colour is known for its therapeutic ability of calming and quietening the mind and encourage relaxations that allows the mind to wander and creativity to breather, thus creates opportunity for innovation. Pantone will help provide the blank canvas that Cloud Dancer represents by inspiring and spotlighting artists across the creative community to create their own interpretation of the Pantone Colour throughout the year. Launching a new creative initiative that celebrates and supports the artist community as well as colour enthusiasts, Pantone will release surprise limited-edition designs from artists across all areas of design, from graphics to fashion. This initiative is part of a broader exploration of commissioning art and celebrating creativity. Each creation reflects the artist’s interpretation of the Pantone Colour of the Year.
