Mastercam, one of the most trusted CAD/CAM solution providers strengthens its direct customer support by acquiring their longtime channel partner QTE Manufacturing Solutions. The Sandvik Group software solutions provider has recently confirmed about the completion of their strategic acquisition that will enhance its presence across the Midwestern part of the United States. This acquisition integrates QTE’s wide local knowledge as well as client relationship directly into Mastercam’s operations, thus improving customer support and service delivery across the respective market.

Improving market role:

QTE Manufacturing Solutions had its inception in 1985. Over the years it has evolved from performing tool and fixture design for the aerospace industry into a leading CAD/CAM solutions provider. The brand name soon emerged as the one stop CAD/CAM solutions provider for manufacturers residing across Missouri, Kansas, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Southern Illinois.

“This acquisition represents a transformative step in elevating the customer experience through enhanced local support and service capabilities,” said Russ Bukowski, President of Mastercam. “By bringing the deep regional expertise and established relationships of QTE Manufacturing Solutions directly into our operations, we’re delivering on our commitment to provide manufacturers with immediate, localized technical support, and solutions tailored to their specific regional manufacturing needs. This direct customer relationship model gives Mastercam a significant competitive advantage and ensures our customers receive the most responsive, expert service in the industry.”

Ensuring delivery of finest local customer support through direct operations

This mergers and acquisition clearly symbolise ways in which Mastercam is committed towards improving its direct customer support and have taken meaningful step in maintaining unparalleled regional services as a key market differentiator.

By transitioning from a traditional channel partner model to direct operations in the Midwest market, Mastercam can now offer customers immediate access to technical expertise, accelerated problem resolution, and customized training programs delivered by in-market specialists who understand local manufacturing requirements and industry practices.

This direct customer relationship approach aligns with Mastercam’s broader growth objectives of combining organic innovation with strategic acquisitions to expand market reach and enhance customer service capabilities. As part of Sandvik’s intelligent manufacturing portfolio, Mastercam continues to advance connected manufacturing processes and provide comprehensive support to manufacturers worldwide.

For over four decades Mastercam CAD/CAM software has thrived in the market and is known for offering the much needed manufacturing solutions. Their mission was clear: make advanced NC programming accessible to every shop. What started as a 2D CAM system quickly evolved to include 3D milling, turning, multiaxis machining, and proprietary innovations like Dynamic Motion technology. By the 1990s, Mastercam had become the most widely used CAM software in the world—a position we’ve held since 1994. Today, with over 450,000 installations globally, we power industries from aerospace to medical, automotive to education.
